Bhagavad Gita Meaning, quotes, how it has evolved

Bhagavad_Gita108

Bhagavad Gita is words spoken to Arjuna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra in Haryana State of India by Shri Lord Krishna himself. These are more than 5000 year ago during “Mahabharata”.

When Arjuna went to the battle field, he finds everywhere there, his relatives or friends, which made him unable to draw weapons on them. He was in complete state of absense, since he was unable to figure out, what is right and wrong.

Then Krishna asked Arjuna why he chose him, when he was not for taking up arms. Then Arjuna replied, “O Lord! You have the power to destroy all the forces by a mere blink of an eye. Why then should I prefer that worthless army? I have for a long time been cherishing a desire in my heart that you should act as my charioteer. Kindly fulfil my desire in this war.”

Then Lord Krishna, Became saarthi of arjuna, and asked him to take out his arms but when arjuna resisted Lord Krishna told arjuna about “Karma”. Which we latter knew as Bhagavad Gita.

Those words made Arjuna, fight for Truth and Dharma. Some of the finest Bhagavad Gita quotes are presented here.
